Henry served in Company H, 13th Regiment, of the Illinois Calvary as a private.  He enlisted on 14 of November 1861 Chicago and recieved a discharge because of disabilty on 29 November 1862 at Patterson, MO.  Henry was thrown from his horse while on a scouting expedition and suffered from a hernia and hepatitis.  He received a pension and upon his death, his wife Ferdiande received pension for the 4 youngest children.
